Raretec Consulting is seeking detail-oriented and experienced Forensic Building Engineers to join one of our foremost clients, the leading Forensic Engineering firm in the S.E USA. As a leader in forensic engineering, our clients are committed to delivering high-quality analysis and solutions for complex structural and construction-related issues. In this role, you will investigate structural failures, evaluate building materials, and assess design and construction practices to provide expert opinions on various projects. This position requires a blend of engineering expertise and critical thinking skills to analyze information thoroughly and offer actionable recommendations.

You will interact with a variety of stakeholders including architects, contractors, and legal teams, necessitating strong communication skills and the ability to articulate technical information clearly. Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive investigations of structural failures and building defects to determine causation and extent of damage.
  • Evaluate forensic evidence, including materials and construction methods, to assess compliance with regulations and standards.
  • Prepare detailed reports and documentation outlining findings, analysis, and recommendations for stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with legal professionals to provide expert testimony in court cases involving forensic engineering matters.
  • Engage with architects, contractors, and clients to communicate complex technical information effectively and provide solutions.
  • Perform site inspections and collect data to support investigations and assessments of building performance.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, building codes, and materials advancements to ensure informed engineering practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure preferred or ability to obtain licensure within a specified timeframe.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural engineering, forensic analysis, or related fields.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for conveying technical information clearly.
  • Proficient in engineering software and tools used in structural analysis and design.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating strong organizational skills.
