Job Summary:

Production Supervisors are responsible for daily pillow production operations and shop floor functions.  Supervisors are dedicated to maintaining safe, productive, respectful departments. This role works with department Team Leads to meet department safety and quality standards, schedules, equipment cleaning, and policy execution.  Supervisors train, develop and lead production line teams to perform at standard. Activities include planning shift production, staffing, line change over, maintenance, and material flow to meet production targets. The Production Supervisors motivate the staff to achieve production goals on an hourly and shift basis, while maintaining quality conformance. Supervisors monitor and report equipment, associate, and overall operational functions with the Production Manager, Maintenance & Facilities Manager and HR Generalist. 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

•    Production Team – As many as 35 associates

Duties /Responsibilities:

•    Recruit, onboard, train and evaluate department staff  

•    Build a positive, safe and teamwork environment 

•    Ensure the proper operation of machinery and equipment. Follow daily, and weekly equipment cleaning programs as outlined on the maintenance schedule and machinery manufacturer guide  

•    Achieve hourly and daily targets (UPM – units per minute - good units per labor hour) 

•    Manage documents to process work orders, consume raw materials and report finished goods production 

•    Understand and follow inventory procedures, scrap reporting, and material storage practices. 

•    Collaborate with other departments (e.g., Maintenance, Inventory, Quality Control, HR) to resolve production issues 

•    Flexibility required. Willing to work different shift schedules, weekends, and different departments as needed

Requirements

Qualifications:

•    Experience leading production teams 

•    3+ years of supervisory experience in similar roles  

•    Ability to effectively train and develop inexperienced teams 

•    Responsible, dedicated, decisive, disciplined, and driven to improve operations

•    Strong equipment operation experience 

•    Excellent oral and written communication skills 

•    Manufacturing excellence skills, KPI’s, OEE, and other general Lean skills

•    Proficient in MS Office365, Excel, RF Scanner and WMS skills 

•    Ability to lift 35 pounds, stand and walk for the entire shift 

Education and Experience:

•    College degree or equivalent experience
