What we do

The Data team is responsible for collection, quality, and delivery of the data that helps bring our suite of products to life.  We regularly collaborate with teams across the organization and liaison with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure our data is meeting and exceeding customer needs.   We delight in the delight of our customers, so we're constantly exploring new possibilities, from new data sources to integrations and AI-based solutions.  

What you will do

  • Ensure the quality of social listening data in use by our software and research teams, identifying processes and tactics to reduce noise in the data and capture the most relevant trending topics in food
  • Manage rules that govern social listening data extraction from external social media data providers
  • Work directly with social media data providers to ensure efficient and effective use of their capabilities in supporting value to our internal and external customers
  • Individual contributor potentially managing a team of external data processing resources in reviewing social media data to identify and address issues in quality and relevancy
  • Own the request process and delivery of custom social media data requests from internal and external customers, including managing and prioritizing the request queue, executing on requests, identifying themes and opportunities for streamlining service, and communicating service metrics to leadership  
  • Identify opportunities for new types of insights in social data that can drive new product features or publication content
  • Become a subject matter expert on our products, and contribute expertise and support as we continue to build out the Datassential platform 
  • Assist with new and upcoming data initiatives as they arise

As a Manager, Social Data, you will establish, execute, manage, and refine the processes that deliver high value social listening data and insights through Datassential applications and publications.  Your work will empower Datassential customers across the food and beverage industry to recognize key consumer and market trends, and make better business and menu decisions.  This is a hands-on position with an opportunity to support multiple products and teams in a rapidly evolving environment.  The Manager, Social Data is a critical and highly visible position with ownership of projects and results, and with the opportunity to materially influence the evolution of Datassential’s social listening capabilities.

  • You are an analytical thinker with meticulous attention to detail. You enjoy conveying complex data insights in an understandable manner to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • You are organized with the ability to manage multiple requests and to delegate and manage workload and results across a distributed team
  • You are passionate about addressing data-related inefficiencies and immersing yourself in the food and social media landscape
  • You enjoy working in a dynamic environment with evolving priorities 
  • You strive for continuous process improvements and implement streamlined workflows to enhance efficiency

Requirements

What you bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Data Science, or a related field or equivalent work experience
  • 3- 5 years of experience in market research, data analysis, data management, social media data management or a related role
  • Experience in data cleansing, preparation, analysis, or insights generation
  • Experience working with offshore teams
  • Experience with social media platforms and social data analysis
  • Willingness to interact with both internal and external clients
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet given deadlines
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a team player, but comfortable working autonomously
  • Experience or interest in the food and beverage industry is desired

The pay range for this role is $75,000 - $90,000/ year. Actual compensation within the pay range will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior relevant experience, and specific work location.
