The Mental Health Association is seeking a Lead Representative Payee Coordinator to join our Fiscal team to work with all levels of our organization!
Under the direction of the Senior Accountant, this position is responsible for providing leadership to the Representative Payee Coordinator positions, as well as performing a variety of time sensitive accounting and clerical duties. Duties include working closely with fiscal staff to ensure all written policies are followed, communication with various federal/state agencies as necessary, and providing customer service both in person and on the telephone with all levels of job titles within the Organization.
Essential Position Functions
- Review Representative Payee Coordinator’s work to ensure proper setup and maintenance of participant accounts and to ensure adherence to Organization policies.
- Setup and accurately maintain client personal checking accounts, including budgeting, preparing checks, entering recurring payments into the computer banking system, and recording transactions.
- Assist with setting up new accounts and closing accounts with the bank, debit card company and Social Security.
- Perform monthly reconciliations of bank accounts.
- Review and submit monthly and annual reports to Social Security.
- Assist with preparation and completion of audits by various agencies, including funders and Social Security.
- Respond professionally and accurately to inquiries from employees and outside agencies.
- Perform various other clerical duties as needed.
- Perform other similar duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
Education/Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Prior Accounting or Representative Payee experience required.
Qualifications
- Excellent computer skills required, including Microsoft office.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, which include the ability to effectively convey information to others.
- Keen attention to detail and ability to be accurate.
- Ability to identify errors and solve problems.
- Ability to manage time and meet deadlines.
- Visual acuity to written and computer screen data.
- Manual coordination and dexterity to operate office equipment.
