Part-Time Upper School Math Teacher in Connecticut

St. Luke’s School, a secular (non-religious), college-preparatory day school serving grades 5 through 12 in New Canaan, Connecticut, seeks a part-time Upper School Math teacher to teach 2 sections of math, most likely Algebra II. A successful candidate will join a team of Mathematics teachers known for their extraordinary commitment. Whether the content is Pre-Algebra or Calculus, our Math teachers put students first. The Department uses a range of instructional methods, including direct instruction, group work, inquiry-based, and flipped classrooms; the practices in Building Thinking Classrooms inform the approach. This team of math teachers embraces what Seymour Papert has called “hard fun.” The St. Luke’s Upper School Math Team participates in all Fairfield County math meets and also has social outings.
