Patient Registrar 11p-7a Sun-Thurs

POSITION PURPOSE

Under general supervision of the Director, the Registrar is responsible for timely and accurate scheduling, insurance eligibility and verification, referrals and authorization, patient registration, point of service collection, transfer and discharge of all hospital patients. Serves as the first point of contact for providers and patients, via phone and in person. Supports the hospital in all areas as requested, ensuring the accuracy of demographic and financial data recorded, accurate and timely hand off of patient and/or registration documents and physician orders to clinical care departments, and promotes patient safety by arm banding every patient (Red Rules) at every point of contact prior to the end of the registration process. These duties, performed according to established policy and procedure, result in a positive experience for patients and providers, and ensure the success of the revenue cycle.
