Assistant Director of Student Services

Stanbridge University is seeking a dynamic individual to be our new Assistant Director of Student Services. This position will report to the Director of Student Services. In this role you will be responsible for assisting with daily operation, organization, administration, general effectiveness, and supervision of the Student Services Department. The right candidate must have the ability to provide extensive knowledge and application of principles, theories and concepts and the ability to support and collaborate with colleagues to effectively manage challenging situations.

Essential Functions

· Oversight of the re-enrollment process to ensure accuracy and timeliness of paperwork.

· Review and Approval of all Leave of Absence requests and processing of paperwork.

· Verification and overview of dismissal and withdrawal processes.

· Handles all re-enrollment processing, including but not limited to, processing re-enrollment requests, scheduling required assessments, and serving on programmatic re-enrollment committees.

· Creates and submits re-enrollment paperwork and addendums for course registration.

· Tracks re-enrollment data.

· Interfaces with students by providing support, counsel and guidance as needed.

· The Assistant Director is responsible for planning, managing, and evaluating academic service functions to ensure compliance with University policies, procedures, and standards.

· Responsible for audits of all graduating student files which include communication with interdepartmental staff to verify and ensure all paperwork is complete for graduation.

· Daily operation and specifically working closely to intervene and offer support to the high-risk population for retention purposes.

· Oversight of the planning of vaccination clinics for all programs.

· Responsible for all vaccination uploads for all programs, as well as monitoring all deadlines for expiring vaccinations.

· Responsible for processing ADA requests.

· In collaboration with the Director of Student Services and Program Directors, manages all conduct issues which includes, complaints, bullying, academic dishonesty and title IX.

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred.

· Minimum of five-years’ experience in working in Higher Education and Student Services.

· Ability to multi-task and utilize effective time management/organizational skills.

· Ability to work independently as well as with colleagues.

· Demonstrate a high level of critical thinking and problem solving.

· Establishes effective working relationships with students, administrators, faculty staff, student family members, and external constituents.

· Ability to work effectively with a diverse population of students, faculty and staff.

· Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

· Demonstrated success in utilizing data for planning and evaluating programs and services.

· Possesses tact and sound judgement in dealing with sensitive and/or confidential matters.

· Work environment may include skills lab or bedside environments as required by program.

· An incumbent is subject to contact with others, frequent interruptions, noise from talking or office equipment and demanding timelines.

Physical Demands:

· The incumbent regularly sits for extended periods.

· Physical ability to perform the duties as assigned to the program or department.

· Proficient in operating electronic keyboards and other office machines.

· Effective verbal communication skills in answering telephones and providing information with clarity and distinctness.

· Ability to read fine print and operate computers with precision.

· Ability to understand voices over the telephone and in person.

· Able to lift, carry, and/or move objects weighing between 10-25 pounds as needed.
