Join Our Team: Peer Support Specialist Needed for V.I.B.E. Program

About V.I.B.E.: V.I.B.E. – Vision & Independence, Building Empowerment is an innovative, strengths-based case management program targeting transition-aged youth (16-24) with opioid use disorder (OUD) and stimulant use disorder (STUD). We focus on a comprehensive approach that addresses mental health, housing, education, and employment to ensure holistic recovery and long-term stability.

Position: Peer Support Specialist

  • Location: Statewide, Delaware (Offices in Wilmington, Georgetown, Seaford)
  • Type: Temporary, Full-Time
  • Duration: March 15, 2025 - September 30, 2025

Role Summary: As a Peer Support Specialist, you will provide crucial support and guidance to youth overcoming substance-related challenges. By sharing your own recovery journey, you will help clients develop resilience, achieve stability, and access necessary resources. This role requires travel between our offices and offers a chance to make a meaningful impact in a short period.

Responsibilities:

  • Engage clients through direct interaction, sharing experiences, and offering support.
  • Collaborate with case managers to develop and implement effective care plans.
  • Lead peer support groups and provide one-on-one mentorship.
  • Act as a liaison to connect clients with community resources.
  • Model and teach strategies for managing recovery and personal challenges.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in peer support is a plus.
