Requirements

To be successful in this job, you will excel in four areas:

  • Communication: You are clear, precise, and compassionate in all forms of communication. You speak clearly on behalf of the organization and advocate for/with community members, especially our coaches, poet-athletes, and families. When communicating with others, you share context and ask questions to understand others’ perspectives.

You manage a high volume of work with efficiency. You use a system for keeping tasks from slipping through the cracks. You are able to juggle competing demands and prioritize without sacrificing quality. You have extreme attention to detail where you notice and fix errors. This doesn’t mean you can’t make mistakes, this means that you acknowledge mistakes and turn them into learning opportunities. Lastly, you have a strong sense of ownership and resilience. You plan ahead and find alternative paths, when needed, to get to the finish line. You are not defeated by setbacks and rejections. You maintain a high bar even when things are hectic.
  • Commitment to Social Justice and Racial Equity: You recognize the role of race, gender, and other identities in shaping disparities. You are driven to improve conditions, and proactively learn about diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility. You are also committed to self-awareness and emotional intelligence. You are able to reflect on and describe the impact of one’s own identities—and those of others—in a given situation, decision, or process.
