Full Job Description

Control Risks is hiring a Protective Intelligence Lead to help support the executive protection program of a major client of Control Risks. This role will require the candidate to have a clear understanding of Executive Protection and be able to independently produce tactical intelligence reports to include POI investigations, executive event assessments and other risk assessments. This role will require the candidate to be able to clearly communicate with the client’s EP team, executives, and GSOC team to share intelligence and ensure effective collaboration between the teams.

  • Proactively identify, monitor, research, analyze and provide warnings regarding emerging threats and trends worldwide that could potentially impact the client’s executives and C-Suite.
  • Work closely with Protective Services, security personnel, and other stakeholders to share intelligence and ensure effective communication.
  • Support development of a strategic protective intelligence program enabling informed decision-making and enhanced security posture.
  • Provide rapid assessments of “breaking” security situations as needed.
  • Collaborate with the vendors, internal GSOC and intelligence for protective monitoring.
  • Deliver clear, concise, and compelling verbal briefings to senior leadership.
  • Coordinate with travel risk vendor to ensure robust travel risk assessments for executives.
  • Identify negative trends evident through the analysis of security incidents and suspicious activity logs and support the development of response options for management.
  • Develop mechanisms to regularly publish threat advisories, informational reports or security awareness bulletins as directed.
  • Establish internal liaisons both at Client headquarters and operational sites to foster timely and efficient risk-related information exchange.
  • Develop and maintain appropriate industry-related relationships relevant to the collection, evaluation and distribution of security information.
  • Report and document protective intelligence outputs to inform program metrics.  
  • Work independently, manage projects and disseminate information to necessary teams.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in history, political science, international relations, intelligence analysis, criminal justice, regional studies, or related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in protective intelligence, executive protection, POI searches, and tactical intelligence.
  • Proven ability to accurately draw conclusions by synthesizing raw data and information from multiple, unrelated sources into a finished comprehensive product.
  • Clear understanding of executive protection programs and processes to bring best in class resources to the client.
  • Ability to identify and solve complex problems and carry out responsibilities with little or no supervision, at times under adverse and stressful conditions.
  • Availability to work on emergency situations during off-hours and if necessary, for an extended period of time.
  • Ability to interact effectively at all levels of an organization.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to the external environment and organization.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize.
  • Excellent research, analytical, writing, and verbal presentation skills.
  • Ability to carry out responsibilities with little or no supervision, at times under adverse and stressful conditions.
  • Keen understanding of social media monitoring techniques.

The base salary range for this position is $120,000-$130,000 per year. Exact compensation offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
