Position Summary:

As an Accountant at JBPro, you will be a vital member of our Finance team, working closely with the Director of Administration/Finance and the leadership team to ensure efficient and accurate accounting and financial operations. This role balances core accounting tasks with opportunities to build and refine our internal processes. You’ll handle bookkeeping, pay runs, payroll, and monthly closeouts, with a focus on controls and accurate data entry. This position is ideal for a motivated individual who enjoys working in a smaller, team-oriented environment and has a passion for streamlining financial processes.

What You'll Do:

  • Perform daily bookkeeping tasks, including tracking and reconciling cash and credit accounts to ensure accuracy and up-to-date financial records.
  • Ensure employee timesheets are submitted and reviewed for accuracy and compliance
  • Process payroll accurately and on-time and ensure all accounting transactions are posted back to the accounting system properly
  • Execute monthly closeout procedures with a focus on reconciling balance sheet accounts and verifying general ledger balances for accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist in managing discretionary purchasing and vendor payments by focusing on maintaining cash flow and budget consistency.
  • Coordinate with third-party accountants for tax preparation and compliance.
  • Use and refine Excel-based workflows to improve accounting operations, including accounts payable and budgeting.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to set expectations about payables and payroll timelines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, OR at least 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Proficiency in Excel at an intermediate to advanced level (experience with complex functions, Pivot Tables, Power Query, and data analysis preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience with monthly closeout processes, including balance sheet and general ledger reconciliation.
  • Knowledge of bookkeeping practices and basic cash flow management.
  • Creative, motivated, and passionate about continuous improvement and accuracy in financial processes.
