Role Overview

This role supports the transformation of the US Field tactical purchasing process to a strategy-centric purchasing process and will initially manage a team of five (5) direct reports. The position is also responsible for strategy development and execution, conducting strategic sourcing events, and negotiating acceptable terms and conditions with suppliers according to the company's approved processes to mitigate risk.

This role will collaborate and partner with the Strategic Sourcing team and Centre of Excellence teams within PSM to leverage all supplier sourcing agreements via our procurement technology platform. Specific direction from the Strategic Sourcing Team will be used to maximize ROI on shared categories of spend.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Strategic Sourcing Leadership: Leverage the company’s spend (approximately $300 million) and lead strategic sourcing events for purchases related to US Field operations, modernization (MOD), service repair/maintenance, and new equipment (NI) to maximize savings opportunities.
  • Team Management: Manage a team of sourcing professionals to prioritize, plan, negotiate, and execute strategic sourcing events (e.g., eRFX/eAuctions) in accordance with the company’s processes to achieve savings targets.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and lead cross-functional and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Supplier Performance Monitoring: Monitor supplier Key Performance Indicators—including Safety, Quality, Cost, and On-Time In-Full (OTIF)—to mitigate business risk.
  • Data Analysis: Consolidate and analyze data, draw conclusions, and communicate recommended solutions to drive business performance.
  • Spend Compliance: Ensure spend compliance with established supply chain strategies.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Strategic Sourcing, Field Leadership, and various operational departments to advance the company's initiatives and meet overall business goals.
  • Tail Spend Management: Implement a structured approach to managing tail spend.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Develop relationships with key internal business decision-makers to support the creation of a world-class procurement experience.
  • Cost Reduction Strategies: Develop and implement new strategies to streamline processes and reduce costs.
  • Reporting: Gather data, perform analysis, and prepare reports as required.
  • Specialized Expertise: Provide specialized purchasing expertise to support various functions.
  • Supplier Development: Assist in supplier development activities as required.
  • Daily Operations: Perform daily purchasing and material expediting tasks as needed.
  • Compliance: Adhere to the company's business conduct guidelines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or a related field.
  • Master’s/MBA preferred.
  • Professional certifications such as ISM CPSM, CIPS, or Six Sigma Black Belt are preferred.
  • 10+ years of sourcing and supplier relations experience.
  • 8+ years of experience leading procurement teams at a managerial level.
  • 5+ years of experience in the OEM elevator industry or a similar business.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Oracle, and advanced Excel skills (including pivot tables, VLookup, macros, and charting/graphing).
  • Experience with ERP systems, spend data analytics and reporting, eSourcing (including eAuctions), and contract management systems.
  • Strong understanding of purchasing policies, procedures, practices, and the use of procure-to-pay (P2P) digital platforms.
  • Excellent change management skills and a keen ability to manage stakeholders.
  • Exceptional persuasion and interpersonal skills for interacting with suppliers, business leaders, and other internal stakeholders.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both internal and external audiences.
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills, including a solid grasp of supplier contract management.
  • Strong managerial and organizational skills.
  • High level of integrity and dependability, with a strong sense of urgency to deliver results.
