Full Job Description
LMA - Leads, Manages and holds accountable all direct reports
Actively participates in the vetting, selection and onboarding process
Monitors efficiency and productivity to ensure expectations are met or exceeded
Provides training on equipment
Provides hands-on trouble shooting assistance with department equipment
Communicates the daily schedule and job priorities via Lead Scheduler assignment
Conducts regular coaching (formal and JIT)
Conducts performance reviews and facilitates disciplinary action with area supervisor
Meets or exceeds department KPI’s
Safety, Quality, Efficiency, 5S
· Facilitates continuous improvement processes to create efficiency and reduce costs
· Effectively utilizes MRP software for planning and scheduling, lead scheduler
· Sets up jobs in accordance with departmental needs to ensure maximum efficiency and quality
· Limits over usage of material and labor, managing resources accordingly
· Ensures that all materials are available and ready for fabrication at the machine location
· Performs first-piece inspection for all new fabrication runs, when necessary
· Ensures tooling is maintained and stored properly, moving tooling to put away as needed
· Communicates any issues with Sales that would prevent shipping due dates from being met
· Completes daily labor report with needed updates
· Operates all department equipment/fabrication runs, as needed
· Controls inventory movement and validation in department bin via bin status reconciliation
· Enforces safety policies and practices to ensure culture of health and safety; identifies safety hazards and works with management team on corrective actions
· Involvement throughout the shop as a resource for others, providing expertise to employees when they need direction or answers
Requirements
· Associates degree (AA) in a technical discipline and 1-2 years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
· Proficiency working in a computer supported environment with business software and Microsoft office programs
· Ability to read and interpret blueprints, use simple math and use basic hand-held measuring tools
· Mechanical/technical aptitude
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow; able to multi-task
· Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
