About the Role

We are seeking an experienced estate planning and/or estate administration paralegal to support our estate planning or estate administration practice. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience in North Carolina estate law, strong technical skills (Clio preferred), and the ability to take ownership of cases.  Leadership experience is a plus, but we are open to training the right candidate with a strong desire to grow.

Key Responsibilities

Estate Planning Paralegal:

• Draft & Prepare Documents – Wills, trusts, POAs, healthcare directives.
• Client Intake & Communication – Gather information, maintain contact.
• Funding & Asset Transfers – Assist with trust funding, beneficiary updates.
• Execution & Notarization – Coordinate signings, ensure compliance.

Estate Administration Paralegal:

• Probate & Court Filings – File petitions, inventories, accountings.
• Asset Identification & Distribution – Locate, value, and transfer assets.
• Creditor Claims & Estate Debts – Manage notifications and settlements.
• Estate Tax & Accounting Assistance – Support tax prep and financial tracking.

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

✅ 5+ years of estate planning or administration experience (NC-specific preferred).
✅ Proficiency in MicroSoft Office (Outlook, Work & Excel) and a legal software program (Clio or similar).
✅ Strong organizational and communication skills.
✅ Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases.
✅ Desire to grow into a leadership role (if less experienced).
