Full Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Human Resources Director to lead our HR department, drive transformative change, and ensure strict compliance with all relevant employment laws in Ohio. In this role, you will partner directly with our home office leadership and center directors to cultivate a proactive, transparent, and effective HR function that supports our employees and enhances our organizational performance.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive HR strategies and initiatives that align with All Around Children’s organizational goals and culture.
  • Collaborate with company leadership and school directors to integrate HR best practices into broader business strategies and operational improvements.
  • Lead organizational change initiatives and continuous improvement efforts across all HR functions.
  • Cultivate a positive, transparent work environment by addressing employee concerns, mediating conflicts, and ensuring clear, proactive communication.
  • Design and implement performance management systems that encourage employee growth and enhance overall organizational performance.
  • Drive initiatives that promote employee engagement and create a supportive, collaborative culture.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local labor laws.
  • Oversee compliance-related processes and manage risk through the continuous review and development of internal HR policies and procedures.
  • Communicate and enforce HR best practices across the organization to maintain high standards of operational integrity.
  • Monitor key HR metrics and prepare reports to support strategic decision-making by senior leadership.
  • Manage the HR department’s budget and resources efficiently.
  • Oversee HR systems and technology implementations to streamline HR processes and data management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
  • A Master’s degree in a relevant field and/or professional HR certifications (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) are preferred.
  • Several years of progressive HR leadership experience, ideally with exposure to industries such as childcare, education, or related fields.
  • Proven expertise in HR strategy development, employee relations, change management, and performance improvement in dynamic environments.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing HR compliance processes with a strong understanding of employment laws.
  • Exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and current industry trends.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and experience leveraging HR metrics for continuous improvement.
  • A collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across multiple departments and levels of the organization.
