Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Scenic Sales Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving sales efforts related to scenic fabrication and production services within the live events, entertainment, and corporate industries. This role requires a deep understanding of scenic design, fabrication processes, and client needs, paired with strong sales expertise to build relationships, close deals, and grow revenue in a competitive market. This position will require 30% travel.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Sales Strategy & Execution: Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy focused on scenic fabrication and production services. This includes identifying target markets, understanding client needs, and crafting tailored solutions to drive revenue.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients, including event producers, theater companies, production designers, corporate clients, and agencies. Provide exceptional customer service to ensure client satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Proposal Development: Collaborate with the creative and production teams to generate high-quality proposals, budgets, and estimates for scenic fabrication and production projects. Ensure proposals align with client expectations and budgetary requirements.
  • Market Research & Trend Analysis: Stay up-to-date on industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies in scenic fabrication and production. Use this knowledge to identify new sales opportunities and anticipate market needs.
  • Sales Presentations & Negotiations: Lead client presentations, negotiating contracts, and closing deals. Ensure all terms and conditions are clearly communicated and mutually agreed upon.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the production and creative teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. Ensure alignment between sales goals and production capabilities.
  • Sales Reporting & Forecasting: Track sales activities, monitor progress against targets, and provide regular sales reports and forecasts to senior management. Adjust sales strategies as needed to achieve business objectives.
  • Event Participation: Represent the company at industry trade shows, conferences, and networking events to promote services, generate leads, and expand the company’s market presence.

Requirements

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in sales, with at least 3 years specifically focused on scenic design, production, or related industries (e.g., live events, theater, entertainment).
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of the scenic design and production process, including materials, fabrication, and logistics. Familiarity with the latest trends in live event production and scenic technologies.
  • Sales Expertise: Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in a competitive environment. Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Relationship Building: Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with clients, vendors, and internal teams. Customer-focused with a solution-oriented approach to sales.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Theater Production, or a related field preferred.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel as required for client meetings, site visits, and industry events.
