Are you a creative storyteller with a passion for engaging audiences and building awareness of organizational impact in the community? If, so, join the Henrico Education Foundation!

 

We are looking for a Communications and Marketing Coordinator who will engage audiences through managing our organization's brand, social media channels, websites, and assisting with public relations, communications and messaging.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage the organization’s philanthropic communication efforts that include eblasts, websites and social media platforms
  • Develop HEF’s brand and communication strategy to support the organization’s mission, vision and fundraising goals
  • Optimize communication platforms to increase programmatic and fundraising engagement
  • Manage communication tools including social media platforms, and websites including HEF and Henrico Partnership and Early Learning Coalition
  • Develop engaging, professional, brand-appropriate graphic and written content including collecting quotes, stories, and data
  • Manage communication projects including video, photography, graphic design, and written communication for educational and promotional needs.
  • Support the execution of the development strategic plans and programming as it relates to communications by developing an annual plan including timelines and messaging
  • Build and execute social media strategy through competitive research, platform determination, benchmarking, messaging and audience identification
  • Generate, edit, publish and share daily content (original text, images, video or HTML) that builds meaningful connections and encourages community members to take action
  • Set up and optimize company pages within each platform to increase the visibility of company’s social content
  • Moderate all user-generated content in collaboration with the Chief Development Officer for each platform
  • Create editorial and social media PR calendars and schedules
  • Capture and analyze the appropriate social data/metrics, insights and best practices, and adjust messaging and plans as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or associates degree in lieu of a 4-year degree
  • Minimum of two years of communications and marketing experience.
  • Experience managing and creating on-target branded content
  • Experience with platform metrics
  • Experience working in social media marketing or digital media marketing
  • Excellent computer skills related to the use of Microsoft Office products, Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, Word Press
  • Knowledge of online marketing and good understanding of major marketing channels
  • Knowledge of web design/web development
  • Excellent consulting, writing, editing (photo/video/text) skills
  • Ability to write clear, compelling narrative for materials
  • Detail oriented and excellent organizational skills

Benefits

  • Salary Range:  $47-$53k
  • Benefits include HCPS health and dental plans, retirement contribution and match, generous paid time off and holidays, mileage and phone stipend, and flexibility to support a healthy work-life balance.
  • This is a full-time position located in our main office.
